Today, Midjourney announced the alpha version of its new update V7 – and expectations are high. In the world of artificial intelligence, there are already impressive tools, but Midjourney once again proves that there are not just good, but also exceptionally brilliant AIs.
To test the new capabilities of V7 Alpha, we tried a range of different prompts and compared the results with other well-known AI tools such as Reveprevei and Flux.1. Our verdict: when it comes to artistic aesthetics and the precise execution of complex requirements, Midjourney sets new standards.

A prompt that demands several elements in a clear relationship to one another. Flux places the eagle oddly floating in the air with its wings folded, while Reve portrays the scene as desired. Midjourney, on the other hand, delivers a realistic, harmonious image: the eagle sits majestically on the woman’s shoulder as she takes a proud pose on her horse. Only the eagle’s eye appears slightly unnatural – a minor critique of an otherwise impressive result.

Midjourney, however, transforms the prompt into a true work of art: the textures resemble professional concept art. It becomes clear that Midjourney doesn’t just render – it interprets and refines.
David Bowie Portrait
- This prompt was a real challenge: a portrait of David Bowie that unites styles like paper cutout, abstract expressionism, mosaic textures, geometric shapes, and a dark background with vibrant colors. Reve and Flux fail to master the complexity – the results appear chaotic or incomplete. Midjourney, however, handles the task brilliantly: the portrait is not only recognizable but also a powerful artistic statement that captures Bowie’s essence in a multi-layered, stylized form.

Exhibition Room
- A surprise came with the prompt of an exhibition room. Midjourney delivers an impressive composition of shapes, colors, and perspectives – an aesthetic whole that immediately catches the eye. However, two flaws stand out: the faces of the people depicted appear distorted and unnatural, and the desired lettering "Laduree" is not displayed correctly. In this case, Reve and Flux are ahead, as they produce more realistic faces and offer significantly better typography, even if their overall compositions are less artistic.

Reve and Flux impress with clear details and realistic renderings, while Midjourney adds an artistic touch. In this case, the preference depends on the desired style – all three are successful in their own way.

Black and White Photo of a Woman
- With this classic prompt, Midjourney's strength is evident once more: the result is an artistic black-and-white image that plays with light and shadow and conveys emotional depth. Reve, on the other hand, delivers an image that looks so realistic it could be a real photo – faithful in detail but without artistic ambition. Flux also performs well but lags behind Midjourney in artistic interpretation and feels more functional.

A fantasy-laden prompt that brings out the best in Midjourney: the result is magnificent – a majestic Monkey King, rich in detail with a powerful, almost mythical presence. Flux and Reve implement the prompt solidly, with recognizable monkeys and royal attributes, but they lack the impressive artistic finesse that Midjourney brings to the table.

With V7 Alpha, Midjourney reinforces its reputation as the leading tool for artistic AI image generation. While Reve and Flux often deliver solid, functional results, Midjourney distinguishes itself through its ability not only to implement prompts but also to elevate them aesthetically. The new version’s strengths become especially evident in complex scenes or stylistic challenges.
Weaknesses, such as distorted faces in the exhibition room, are noticeable but don’t significantly detract from the overall impression. For those who want to generate not just images but true works of art, Midjourney V7 Alpha is a milestone that once again outpaces the competition.
